I had the flu all last week. After I rode in my bike in the forest preserve in the snow on Saturday. . . I woke up Sunday morning sick. I only worked 7 hours all of last week. My co-workers were afraid I'd get them sick, so they sent me home two days and told me not to even bother coming in on Friday. So, needless to say, I did no cycling. Today is the first day I've been able to breathe freely. I will give it a couple more days before starting on the bike again.
In other not so great news, it looks like I'm going to need surgery on my wrist. I broke it last year when I got my sleeve caught in a router at work. Originally the doc said I broke my distal radius. Then, after months of complaining, they did more x-rays and an MRI and found out I actually broke that AND the ulnar styloid. Now, after more months of complaining they did another MRI (I've been to several different docs since I moved in July), and found out that I have multiple problems. The gist of it is that I have torn cartilage, torn tendon, sprained ligament, two cysts, lost of fluid in the joints, and some subluxation. The doc is sending me to a superspecialist and I will most likely need surgery. I'm hoping that if I do the workers comp will get on the ball and I'll be able to get it done during the winter and be okay by spring and not miss out on too much of the training. I'm not letting it get to me yet as far as the ride goes. We'll just have to wait and see.
